Grub: ideas for an urban organic kitchen
![]()
Anna Lappe and Bryant Terry have just released their book called Grub, which advocates healthy, local, and sustainable food. In an approachable format and non-judgemental tone, Anna and Bryant offer a holistic motivation to be more aware of our food choices. The book discusses food politics and offers recipes, local resources, poetry, and even music suggestions to encourage us to change our eating habits.
I was able to meet Anna & Bryant when they did a cooking demonstration and book signing at the San Francisco Ferry Building yesterday. I was a bit nervous to meet them because I thought they would be critical of the Feel Good Fast Food offering, as it might not be “slow” enough for what they are suggesting. In fact, Anna was encouraging and realistic about how people need a variety of options for eating better.
I definitely recommend the book and hearing them speak. You can follow them and their tour on their website.
